Gainsborough bath antimicrobial BioCote technology proven effective against Coronavirus strain (not Covid-19 yet)

    

Gainsborough Specialist Bathrooms can report that its antimicrobial BioCote bath technology, is being tested to ascertain effectiveness against Covid-19, following proven results regarding feline Coronavirus, strain Munich.

Part of the Gainsborough Healthcare Group, Gainsborough Specialist Bathrooms is the only specialist bath manufacturer capable of providing a world-class level of integrated infection control technology within its products. BioCote antimicrobial protection consists of a silver-ion additive which is included during the GRP manufacturing process – therefore providing 99.9% 24/7 protection against an array of harmful microbes including Influenza H1N1, E.coli, Salmonella and antibiotic-resistant MRSA. BioCote cannot be wiped or worn away and hence enhances hygiene management and reduces the possibility of cross infection.

Recent laboratory tests with BioCote treated materials have proven that a strain of Coronavirus (not Covid-19) can be combatted by up to 90% within 2 hours. This evidence demonstrates the antiviral efficacy of BioCote technology against a member of the Coronavirus family ­– possibly paving the way to proven effectiveness against Covid-19.

Independent research and BS ISO 21702:2019 compliant testing continues on behalf of BioCote in relation to Covid-19.
