International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis Launches Editor(s)-in-Chief Search for its Flagship Journal

The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) is seeking candidates for the Editor(s)-in-Chief position for its flagship scientific journal, the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH).

JTH is internationally regarded as the leading and most prestigious scientific journal in the field of thrombosis, hemostasis, and vascular biology. With an Impact Factor of 5.565 and an acceptance rate of 29 percent, JTH is a highly competitive scientific journal.

Through the diffusion and exchange of information and ideas within the international research community, JTH strives to advance science and provide the most cutting-edge leadership and research,” said Ingrid Pabinger, ISTH Chairman of Council. “This position represents a remarkable opportunity for candidates at the peak of their careers to shape the future of the field and lead JTH to even greater heights.”

This exciting editorial opportunity consists of a 4-year term commencing January 1, 2019, with the possibility of a 2-year term extension. Open to an individual or a team of two, the Editors(s)-in-Chief will be expected to assemble a high-performing editorial team and continue to spearhead the vision and direction of the journal in collaboration with the goals and mission of the ISTH.

Following the notable leadership of current JTH Editors-in-Chief Frits Rosendaal and Pieter Reitsma, the ideal candidate(s) should be (a) scientifically recognized physician(s)/scientist(s) in the thrombosis and hemostasis field with robust leadership and editorial skills, as well as strong international connections. Interested candidates must have the ability to make the necessary time commitment required for this position.

Among a variety of benefits, the Editor(s)-in-Chief will be eligible for a competitive editorial stipend, travel support, and the expertise and prestige of working with Wiley as publisher of the journal. Editorial management will also be provided.

The ISTH is committed to the evolution of JTH,” Pabinger said. “We are looking for an individual or individuals who—together with their editorial team—can provide the necessary vision, leadership, energy, and scientific gravitas to further develop and amplify the success of JTH, as well as the Society.”
